In short: AlexHost and VMHeaven both say they need no ID document, and both take Monero. AlexHost is the larger and older company: Moldovan, running its own data centre, with VPS in nine countries, managed plans and a 30-day money-back guarantee. VMHeaven is cheaper at entry level and sells two things AlexHost does not: a DMCA-ignored line, and a line where scanning is allowed (AlexHost’s AUP forbids port scans except on servers you administer).
The short answer
- Pick AlexHost if you want a location we do not have, a managed server, or the option of getting your money back in the first 30 days.
- Pick VMHeaven if you need a relaxed copyright policy, want to run security scans, or want more memory for the entry price.
- On identity checks the two say the same thing: no passport, no ID card.

Looking for an AlexHost alternative?
VMHeaven runs KVM VPS in Amsterdam and Frankfurt from €4.99 a month for 2 vCores, 4 GB and 20 GB, takes Monero, card and PayPal with no ID check, and sells two lines for which AlexHost publishes no counterpart: DMCA Ignored KVM, and Pentesting KVM, on which port scanning is allowed. AlexHost, per its own pages as of 5 Oct 2026, starts at €6 a month for 1 vCore and 1.5 GB in eight European countries plus Las Vegas, also sells managed VPS, and refunds a first order within 30 days, with exceptions.
Identity checks (KYC)
Per its llms.txt, checked 5 Oct 2026, AlexHost operates under Moldovan jurisdiction only, with “no passport or ID required to register, no KYC”. The FAQ in its llms-full.txt repeats that no identity verification is required to register or pay. Its service agreement also asks subscribers, in clause 3.3.1, to provide “all the necessary documents and data required by the Operator” at registration. The more specific statement is the no-KYC one. If a document request would end the deal for you, though, ask before you order.
We do not check identity: no ID card, passport, selfie, video call or phone number. Sign-up asks for an e-mail address, a name, a password and a postal address with a country. We issue the invoice to that address, and the country sets the VAT rate. None of it is verified.
Paying with Monero and other coins
Per its payment methods article, updated 19 May 2026 and checked 5 Oct 2026, AlexHost accepts Visa and Mastercard, PayPal, Google Pay and MAIB, and cryptocurrencies through the xMoney gateway: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, USDT, USDC, BNB, Dash and others. You have to accept xMoney’s own terms and privacy policy before a crypto payment goes through. Its llms.txt adds bank transfer and Apple Pay.
We take Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Litecoin, Monero and more through Cryptomus, plus card and PayPal, at the same price. So each host puts a third-party processor between you and the coin, and both take XMR. What paying in Monero changes in practice is on our Monero VPS page.
DMCA notices, scanning and Tor
This is where the two differ most. AlexHost’s Acceptable Usage Policy, checked 5 Oct 2026, does not describe a DMCA-ignored product. It says customers who publish content “have the same liability as other authors for copyright infringement”. The same policy forbids port scanning, except against servers you administer yourself, and Tor exit relays, along with spam, DDoS, malware, phishing and fraud.
We split this by product line. On DMCA Ignored KVM, US DMCA notices are not acted on and not passed to you as an ultimatum. On every other line, they are handled like any other abuse report under our Acceptable Use Policy. Pentesting KVM explicitly allows scraping and zmap or masscan scanning. Penetration tests are limited to systems you own or have written permission to assess. A Tor exit relay is not allowed on Standard or Hi-CPU KVM, and on the DMCA line only after support has agreed to it. Malware, phishing, fraud, spam and CSAM end a service on every line. For what these labels mean in practice, see DMCA-ignored hosting explained and running nmap, masscan and zmap on a VPS.
Locations, hardware and price
AlexHost was founded in 2008 and counts more than 40,000 customers, per its llms.txt. Per its data centre page, checked 5 Oct 2026, it runs its own data centre in Chișinău and sells VPS in Moldova, the Netherlands, Sweden, Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, England and Romania. A separate Las Vegas VPS page starts at €8. On its VPS page, the smallest plan, U1, is €6 a month for 1 vCore, 1.5 GB of DDR4 and 10 GB of NVMe on a shared 100 Mbit/s port. Its llms-full.txt lists three CPU families (Xeon E5-2683 v4, Ryzen 9 7950X in Moldova, Xeon Platinum 8268), managed plans from €10, Voxility DDoS protection on every plan, and Windows on selected plans. AlexHost also sells KVM VPS as a product of its own.
Our entry plan, Standard KVM 1, is €4.99 a month in Amsterdam for 2 vCores on Intel, 4 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and 20 GB of storage. The Hi-CPU plan at the same price has 1 vCore on AMD EPYC 7443. Every VPS line runs on KVM with always-on DDoS protection. In Frankfurt, DMCA Ignored KVM and Pentesting KVM start at €8.99; Standard and Hi-CPU, from €6.99 there, are sold out in Frankfurt at the moment. Windows Server 2022 or 2019 can be picked on every plan, on a time-limited evaluation licence or with your own key. Every server is unmanaged.
Refunds
AlexHost is clearly ahead here. Per section 6 of its Acceptable Usage Policy, checked 5 Oct 2026, a full refund is available within 30 days of purchase, for first-time hosting accounts. The exceptions: orders placed with a promo code, third-party licences, and AUP violations. A dedicated server refund deducts a €5 setup fee and 30 % of the amount paid. A refund in Bitcoin has a $100 minimum and a $20 fee, and one in USDT on TRC-20 costs $5.
Our terms say the right of withdrawal lapses once a server is provisioned, and any goodwill refund is paid as credit on your VMHeaven account, never as cash. If a money-back window is what lets you try a host, AlexHost offers one and we do not.
Where AlexHost is the better choice
- You need a location we do not have: Moldova, Sweden, Bulgaria, Switzerland, France, England, Romania or the US.
- You want a managed VPS, or support with a published first-response time: 30 minutes on tickets, per its llms-full.txt.
- You want a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first order.
- You want GPU servers or colocation, both listed in its llms.txt. We sell neither.
Where VMHeaven is the better choice
- You host content that draws US DMCA notices.
- You run authorised port scans against systems you do not administer, which AlexHost’s AUP forbids.
- You want more memory for the money at entry level: 4 GB for €4.99 against 1.5 GB for €6.
- You want a Frankfurt server. AlexHost has none listed, and Frankfurt is one of our two cities. See Frankfurt vs Amsterdam for how the two compare.
If neither list settles it, take the smallest plan at both for a month and measure the route to your users. For how this looks across more hosts, see no-KYC VPS providers compared.
