Forex VPS MetaTrader 4 and 5 on Windows, in Amsterdam or Frankfurt
A forex VPS is a Windows server that keeps MetaTrader and your Expert Advisors running while your own computer is off. At VMHeaven it is a KVM server with Windows Server 2022 or 2019 in Amsterdam from €4.99 a month, or in Frankfurt at its own, higher price. You install your broker's MT4 or MT5 terminal yourself and log in as Administrator over Remote Desktop.

01Why a VPS
Why run MetaTrader on a VPS?
An Expert Advisor trades only while its terminal is open and connected. A VPS keeps that terminal on a server instead of on your desk.
EAs only trade while the terminal runs
An Expert Advisor lives inside the MetaTrader terminal. When your PC sleeps, restarts for an update or loses its connection, the EA stops with it. On a VPS the terminal keeps running in a data centre while your own computer is switched off.
Administrator: any broker, several terminals
You are Administrator on your own Windows server, so you install the MT4 or MT5 build your broker provides — or several brokers' terminals side by side, each in its own folder.
A console and a reinstall when something breaks
If Remote Desktop stops answering, the VNC console in the panel still shows the screen. And if Windows itself is beyond repair, reinstall a clean Windows Server 2022 or 2019 from the panel, without a ticket.
VPS or MetaTrader's own hosting?
MetaTrader's built-in virtual hosting, rented from MetaQuotes inside the terminal, takes over the charts, Expert Advisors and signal subscriptions you migrate from one terminal. A VPS runs the whole terminal — or several — plus any other Windows software you need beside it. Both keep EAs running; pick the one that fits your setup.
02Location
Amsterdam or Frankfurt: which is closer to my broker?
We do not publish latency figures to any broker. The honest answer is a measurement you take yourself, in your own terminal.
- 01
Find your broker's trade server
Ask your broker's support where its live trade servers are hosted; some server names in the terminal's login dialog also hint at the region. Many brokers host in European financial data centres — check where yours is.
- 02
Order the smallest plan for a month
Pick the city that looks closer and its smallest plan on a one-month term. There is no contract, so if the other city measures better, order there instead.
- 03
Read the ping in the terminal
Log in to your trading account on the VPS. MT5 shows the ping to the trade server in the status bar; in MT4, click the connection indicator in the bottom right corner to see the ping of each access point.
- 04
Compare and decide
Take the same reading on your PC at home and, if you like, from the other city. Go by what the terminal shows, not by what a latency map promises.
Amsterdam and Frankfurt are close neighbours on the network; which one suits you depends on the route to your broker's servers. Each city in detail: Netherlands RDP and Germany RDP.
We have no location in London, New York or anywhere else outside Amsterdam and Frankfurt. If your broker's trade server is in London, a server in London will be closer to it than either of ours.
03Plans
Which plan do I need for MT4 or MT5?
Windows runs on every plan. Hi-CPU KVM puts AMD EPYC 7443 cores behind each plan for terminal work; Standard KVM gives more vCores and memory per euro for many terminals at once. The Frankfurt card shows what is in stock there today.
Hi-CPU KVM
For terminals and EAsFewer vCores per plan, on AMD EPYC 7443: a MetaTrader terminal and its Expert Advisors lean on one or two cores rather than many.
| Plan | vCores | RAM | Storage | Amsterdam |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HI-CPU 1 | 1 | 2 GB ECC | 20 GB | €4.99/mo |
| HI-CPU 2 | 2 | 4 GB ECC | 40 GBRecommended for Windows | €9.99/mo |
| HI-CPU 3 | 3 | 6 GB ECC | 60 GB | €14.99/mo |
Standard KVM
For many terminalsIntel with DDR4 ECC and the most vCores and memory per euro — for several terminals with many charts open at once.
| Plan | vCores | RAM | Storage | Amsterdam |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| STANDARD KVM 1 | 2 | 4 GB DDR4 | 20 GB | €4.99/mo |
| STANDARD KVM 2 | 4 | 8 GB DDR4 | 40 GB | €9.99/mo |
| STANDARD KVM 3 | 6 | 12 GB DDR4 | 60 GB | €14.99/mo |
DMCA Ignored KVM
Frankfurt todayWhat Frankfurt sells today: the Standard line's Intel hardware as DMCA Ignored KVM, priced as its own line. Its takedown policy changes nothing for a terminal — it is simply the Intel line in stock in Frankfurt.
| Plan | vCores | RAM | Storage | Frankfurt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DMCA KVM 1 | 2 | 4 GB DDR4 | 20 GB | €8.99/mo |
| DMCA KVM 2 | 4 | 8 GB DDR4 | 40 GB | €14.99/mo |
| DMCA KVM 3 | 6 | 12 GB DDR4 | 60 GB | €21.99/mo |

All 9 DMCA Ignored KVM plansWindows Server 2022 and 2019 run on every plan, the €4.99 one included. Updates, terminals and their downloaded price history fill a 20 GB disk quickly, so we recommend 40 GB or more.
Windows comes from our template on a time-limited evaluation licence; no licence is included in the price. Activate your own key whenever you like — Windows VPS covers licensing and administration.
Running more terminals than you started with? Upgrade from the panel, then extend the C: drive in Disk Management.
Pay by card, PayPal or in crypto — Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Litecoin, Monero and more, at the same price. How a crypto payment settles is on the Crypto VPS page.
Trading with a Python script or a crypto-exchange bot instead of MetaTrader? That is usually a Linux job — Ubuntu VPS covers it.
0424/5
How do I keep MT4 and MT5 running 24/5?
Most interruptions on a trading VPS come from Windows itself: a restart after updates, a signed-out session. Five habits cover them.
Restart outside market hours
Depending on its update settings, Windows installs updates and restarts to finish them. Set active hours in Windows Update, or schedule installs with Group Policy, so restarts fall on the weekend, when the forex market is closed.
Disconnect, don't sign out
Close the Remote Desktop window to disconnect: your session and the terminal keep running. Signing out ends the session and closes every program in it, MetaTrader included.
Plan for the reboot
After a restart, nothing runs until the Administrator session exists again. Either reconnect over RDP after every planned restart, or set up automatic logon (Sysinternals Autologon, for example) and put the terminals in the Startup folder. Autologon leaves the desktop signed in for anyone who reaches the console — use a strong password and protect your panel login with two-factor authentication.
Check AutoTrading and the Journal
After every restart, open each terminal and check that AutoTrading (Algo Trading in MT5) is on, the EAs are still attached to their charts, and the Journal and Experts tabs show no errors.
Back up before you change anything
Before you update a terminal, an EA or its settings, create a backup in the panel: a snapshot of the whole disk, taken while the server keeps running. If the change goes wrong, restore it.
05Limits
What does a VPS not do for your trading?
A VPS keeps your terminal online. It does not make a strategy profitable, and we say so plainly.
No profit or execution guarantee
Whether an Expert Advisor makes money depends on the strategy and the market. Slippage and requotes come from the market and your broker's execution; we do not publish or guarantee latency to any broker.
We are not a broker
VMHeaven sells servers. We recommend no broker, Expert Advisor or signal provider, and nothing on this page is financial advice.
Trading involves risk of loss
Trading forex and CFDs involves risk of loss, and an EA follows its rules whether the market cooperates or not. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
