Dedicated servers and web hosting
Neither is sold in Frankfurt: bare metal and Plesk web hosting run in Amsterdam only. VPS in the Netherlands lists both next to the Amsterdam VPS lines.
02Why Germany
Why host your server in Germany?
What Frankfurt gives you for its higher price row.
One law for server and contract
Your contract is with VMHeaven in Hamburg and runs under German law (Terms of Service, §21). A server in Frankfurt stands under that same law, with the GDPR on top. In Amsterdam, Dutch law adds a second layer.
Made for German customers
Serving users in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, or selling to companies whose contracts say “hosted in Germany”? A Frankfurt server puts the machine where that clause wants it.
Germany's interconnection hub
Frankfurt is where Germany's networks meet, and home to DE-CIX, one of the largest internet exchanges in the world. That makes the city the natural centre for DACH traffic and much of Central and Eastern Europe.
DMCA notices have no force here
The DMCA is a US law with no legal force in Germany. On DMCA Ignored KVM such notices are filed rather than passed on to you — but anything illegal under German law still ends the service, as AUP §06 says.
03Network
How fast is Frankfurt from where I am?
This test times the round trip from your browser to our European edge. It shows your own connection, not the route to one particular server.
Test it yourself
from your browserHow fast is VMHeaven from where you are?
We time the round trip from your browser to our website, which is served through Cloudflare. It is not a ping to a VPS node in Amsterdam or Frankfurt — a rough guide to your own connection, measured live.
6 samples · median · your ISP, Cloudflare and our web server
- Like Amsterdam, Frankfurt hangs off a redundant premium carrier blend.
- Always-on DDoS mitigation sits in front of every Frankfurt server, at no extra cost.
- Each server gets its own IPv4 address, plus an IPv6 prefix when the location's pool has one.
- Frankfurt and Amsterdam are close neighbours on the network; for most of Europe, the route from your users matters more than which city you pick.
Want to know one specific route — to your office, or to your customers' ISPs? Rent the smallest Frankfurt plan (€8.99) for a month and run curl and mtr against it. Frankfurt or Amsterdam gives the exact commands and how to read their output.
What is DE-CIX Frankfurt?
DE-CIX Frankfurt is the internet exchange point at the heart of Frankfurt, where networks hand traffic to each other directly instead of through a third party. By its operator's own figures it connects more than 1,000 local, regional and global networks, can be reached in over 30 data centres across the Frankfurt area and has passed 18 Tbit/s at peak, which DE-CIX describes as the world's leading internet exchange (de-cix.net, checked October 2026).
Why it matters for a server here: many of the networks your users in Germany and Central Europe are on meet in the same city. Whether a particular route is exchanged there depends on the networks involved; this page names no carrier or peering of ours.
04Location
Frankfurt or Amsterdam?
Decide on market, paperwork and price.
Pick Frankfurt when…
- your users or customers are mostly in Germany, Austria or Switzerland
- a contract, tender or customer asks for hosting in Germany
- you want the server and the contract under one law
Pick Amsterdam when…
- price comes first: VPS from €4.99 there, against €8.99 here
- you want the choice of all four VPS lines in one city
- you also need a dedicated server or Plesk web hosting
The long version, with measuring commands, is Frankfurt or Amsterdam. Amsterdam's lines and prices: VPS in the Netherlands.
05Payment
How do I pay for a German VPS?
The same checkout as every other line, in either city.
Card, PayPal or crypto
Pay by card or PayPal, or in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Litecoin, Monero and more through Cryptomus. The price is the same for every method.
Euro invoice, paid up front
Every order is invoiced in euro and prepaid. Prepay up to 12 months and the monthly rate drops by up to 15%.
No ID check
Sign-up asks for an e-mail address, your name and a postal address for the invoice. Never an ID document, a selfie or a phone number.
Set up automatically
Once the payment is confirmed, the server is built with no manual review. Linux is typically online about a minute later; Windows needs longer for its first boot.
