Germany RDP Windows Server in Frankfurt

A Germany RDP from VMHeaven is a KVM server in Frankfurt that runs Windows Server 2022 or 2019 for you alone, with the Administrator account, from €8.99 a month. In Frankfurt, Windows runs on DMCA Ignored KVM (Intel) or Pentesting KVM (AMD EPYC) today; Standard KVM and Hi-CPU KVM are sold out there, and in Amsterdam Windows starts at €4.99. The first start of Windows needs a few minutes more than a Linux image; after that, you connect as Administrator.

These lines take Windows too, but their Frankfurt rows have no free capacity right now. Stock is read live, so they return to this page on their own; no date is promised.

Every plan above takes Windows Server 2022 or 2019, the smallest one included. A 20 GB disk fills up with updates and programs, so for a desktop you use every day, 40 GB or more is the comfortable size.

The price includes no Windows licence: our image ships with a time-limited evaluation, and you can switch to your own key whenever it suits you. Windows VPS explains the licence options.

02Why Germany

Why pay more for an RDP in Germany?

Frankfurt is our premium location. Here is what the extra money buys, and when Amsterdam is the better deal.

One jurisdiction for server and contract

VMHeaven is based in Hamburg, and our terms are under German law. A server in Frankfurt stands in Germany too, so the contract and the machine fall under one legal system, and the GDPR applies throughout.

German customers and procurement clauses

Some German clients and public bodies write “hosted in Germany” into the contract as a requirement, not a technical preference. A desktop in Frankfurt answers that clause directly, and it gives a team in Germany a remote desktop hosted in its own country.

The price gap, in numbers

Windows starts at €8.99 a month in Frankfurt and at €4.99 in Amsterdam; the same DMCA Ignored KVM 1 plan costs €8.99 here and €5.99 there. If none of these reasons applies to you, Amsterdam is cheaper: Netherlands RDP.

US DMCA notices: no force in Germany

The DMCA is a US statute and binds no one in Germany; DMCA Ignored KVM files such notices instead of passing them on to you. German law still applies to whatever runs on the server, and so does our Acceptable Use Policy.

03Which line

Which line should a Windows desktop in Frankfurt run on?

For a remote desktop the decision is usually quick. The tiles cover every line you can order in Frankfurt right now.

DMCA Ignored KVM — the Standard hardware in Frankfurt

Standard KVM's hardware and core ladder: Intel, DDR4 ECC, 2 to 32 vCores. Whenever Standard KVM itself has no stock in Frankfurt, this is the everyday line for a Windows desktop there.

Pentesting KVM — only if you need to scan

AMD EPYC on the Hi-CPU ladder, with scanning permitted from an isolated segment. The entry plan has 1 vCore and 2 GB for €8.99, where DMCA Ignored KVM gives 2 vCores and 4 GB for €8.99, so it only pays off for Windows if you need that permission.

An honest note: DMCA Ignored KVM and Pentesting KVM are our premium lines and sit on IP ranges set up for their kind of traffic. Standard KVM and Hi-CPU KVM run on separate ranges and are ordered in Amsterdam today — Netherlands RDP has them with Windows.

04Latency

Is Frankfurt close to my users?

Your browser times a round trip to our European network edge: a first reading from your own line, not a number we picked. For the Frankfurt route itself, test from a server there, as described below.

from your browser

How fast is VMHeaven from where you are?

We time the round trip from your browser to our website, which is served through Cloudflare. It is not a ping to a VPS node in Amsterdam or Frankfurt — a rough guide to your own connection, measured live.

6 samples · median · your ISP, Cloudflare and our web server

  • Frankfurt is Germany's interconnection hub; traffic for the DACH region, and for a large part of Central and Eastern Europe, centres on it.
  • Frankfurt and Amsterdam are close neighbours on the network; for a desktop, the route from your users matters more than which of the two you pick.
  • RDP is interactive: every click and keystroke makes a round trip, so the route from your users matters more than raw bandwidth.
  • Every server in Frankfurt is behind always-on DDoS mitigation, at no extra cost.

For your own route — the office, your users' internet providers — rent the entry plan for one month, open a session and work in it, and check the path with ping and mtr. Frankfurt or Amsterdam explains how to read the results.

05Pay & connect

How do I pay and connect?

From the order form to a desktop in Frankfurt, in four steps.

  1. 01

Pick Frankfurt and a Windows version

In the order form, choose a plan, set the location to Frankfurt and select Windows Server 2022 or 2019. Choose the Administrator password on the same form.

  2. 02

    Pay the euro invoice

Every order is prepaid against an invoice in euro, by card, PayPal or crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Litecoin, Monero and more). Your account needs only an e-mail, your name and your postal address; nobody checks an ID.

  3. 03

Let Windows finish its first start

Provisioning starts by itself as soon as the payment confirms. Windows needs a few minutes more than a Linux image before it is ready; the panel's VNC console shows how far it has got.

  4. 04

    Open a Remote Desktop session

Connect with mstsc on a Windows PC, Remmina on Linux, or Microsoft's Windows App on a Mac, iPhone or Android device. Type in the server's IPv4 address and sign in as Administrator; if RDP stays silent, the VNC console still reaches the screen.

Paying in crypto, and what sign-up asks for, is covered in detail on Windows RDP with crypto.

06FAQ

Germany RDP: questions

Everything you need to know before deploying — and a human if you need more.

A Windows server in Frankfurt starts at €8.99 a month, on DMCA Ignored KVM or Pentesting KVM. The plan we suggest for a daily desktop, DMCA Ignored KVM 2 with 40 GB, costs €14.99. Standard KVM and Hi-CPU KVM are sold out in Frankfurt; in Amsterdam, Windows starts at €4.99. Prepaying 3, 6 or 12 months cuts the monthly price by as much as 15%.

Their Frankfurt rows have no free capacity at the moment. There is no promised date: the stock shown here comes straight from our catalogue, and when those rows reopen they appear here with their Frankfurt prices. Until then, Windows in Frankfurt runs on DMCA Ignored KVM or Pentesting KVM, and all four lines are on sale in Amsterdam.

Yes. Every plan is its own KVM virtual machine: Windows is installed for you alone, the IPv4 address is yours, and you hold the Administrator account. It is not a seat on a shared Windows box, and nobody else signs in unless you create an account for them.

German law, plus EU law such as the GDPR. VMHeaven is based in Hamburg and our terms are under German law, so with a server in Frankfurt the contract and the machine sit in the same legal system. A notice under the US DMCA carries no legal weight there, and our Acceptable Use Policy holds on every line.

No. The Windows Server image comes with a time-limited evaluation, and the price contains no licence. Switch to your own key at any point; support helps with the change. Do it before the evaluation ends, because an expired one makes Windows shut down at intervals.

Yes. Pay by card, PayPal or crypto (Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Litecoin, Monero and more). The invoice is in euro, the price does not depend on how you pay, and setup starts as soon as the payment confirms. To sign up you give an e-mail, your name and a billing address, never an ID document.

It is worth it if German law, German customers or a “hosted in Germany” clause matter to you, or if your users are in the DACH region. Otherwise Amsterdam is the same kind of server for less: Windows starts at €4.99 there, and every KVM line is sold there.

Your server receives an IPv4 address of its own from our Frankfurt location, plus an IPv6 prefix when one is available there. How a website places that address is decided by whichever geo-IP database it consults; third parties run those, and they do not always agree. If a German geo-IP result is essential for you, ask support before you order.
